Brassica Oleracea Italica Extract
Topical applications of broccoli extract on animals and human volunteers galvanized the skin cells to step up production of enzymes that help act as a sunscreen to combat the damaging effects of UV rays. The Cancer Research journal reported a study that found the concentrated extract from broccoli sprouts halved the incidence of bladder tumors in animals. In 2010, the University of Michigan’s Comprehensive Cancer Center found that sulforaphane from broccoli extract “killed the cancer stem cells and prevented new tumors from growing” in cell cultures and in tests on animals.
